i was talking to and helping out an olympic lifter at gym box victoria.. he was asking me to check out his technique, it turns out we both learned olympic lifting from Mike Cause from LOWA. it was interesting because he said he gets lower back pain from changing his predominant training of powerlifting to olympic lifting, which is funny because when i do olympic lifting it solidifies my back and now that i do gymnastics i get all kind of back pain because my back is being used in different ways..
so different activities cause different pains.. however to me its a no brainer to keep overhead squats, deadlifts and bent over rows in my routine as they give me a solid back and i guess i have to endure painful massages until my body adapts.
so when you change your training style take this into account different activity, different pain and try to keep the things that work for you…
