Training in your 20s is very different to training in your 30s, 40’s and 50’s… I have trained people from the age of 5 years old all the way up to a 92 year old and each age group has a different emphasis on the look and the objectives as well as what they think they need at their life stage.
I’ve been going on and on about longevity and health for while as I’m 38 years old but have realised that that is not necessarily correct for everyone. In my 20s it was all about the abs and the chest looking good no matter what even if that ended up making me tight in the shoulders, now I’m willing to sacrifice the abs to get better posture and balance and thats not necessarily right thats just the stage I’m in and what i believe to be right for me in the moment.
So what’s the point and where is the middle road for the guys and girls in their 20s, 30s and 40s? Number one, a lot of discipline and hard work in nutrition and exercise technique is essential, in a short spurt of time such as 6 weeks so they can go back to socialising, and for guys and girls from 30-50 + i would go for 6 weeks to 3 months of disciplined training and nutrition as you want it to be less drastic and more of an ongoing change so that they can keep healthy habits for longer so that they incorporate in to their lifestyle.
