so i spent christmas at my grandmothers and saw my parents, my aunt, cousins and friends and whenever i am at a social and family get together people always ask me what to do about losing weight and getting in shape and really what i think they truly want is to release themselves from pain and feel strong and healthy because my aunt said to me how do i get into shape and i then said to her hey shall we do planks right now and get everyone to do planks and as exciting as that sounded everyone was like yeah, if only we can watch and burn calories observing without feeling anything.. so today i am going to talk about health and feelings as i feel like society is avoiding feeling good and feeling physical… you see what i mean by that is a lot of pain and anxiety appears when you mention exercise to someone as its so foreign and no one wants to feel or look like a dumb ass or not know what to do and the funny thing i have noticed is that when i meet family, friends, clients or loved ones initially they only need between 2- 4 exercises to specifically work on which will make them feel and look amazing with the addition of certain stretches or the use of a massage technique or two involving trigger points or positional releases which are a combination of massage techniques with stretching techniques…
remember health doesn’t need to involve sweating, it can do, what I’m saying is it isn’t an absolute essential to health…. what is essential to health is learning to relax and let go at the same time as getting stronger and more flexible and building your stamina in doing this again and again and again with reps and sets and volume and formidable technique… so with my aunt all i did was get her to do some deep breathing holding a great postural position so strengthening muscles by maintaining a postural pose and doing that with deep breathing to get the diaphragm moving which buy the way when done properly is revolutionary to energy and health… and then some back extensions with strict form and some trigger points and boom she felt amazing and held herself taller and more confidently..
to me true health is about moving the body with fluidity with zen, with grace and to be able to move strongly and powerfully and also to be able to hold yourself powerfully yet that is only the physical side of the equation the mental side is the stamina to go through the pain and focus and build confidence under challenge and to gain inner confidence as well as outer aesthetics and beauty and the spiritual side the deep breathing is about letting go and focusing on letting go with the deep breathing which allows you to combat your pains, your doubts, your fears, challenges and anxieties so that your relaxed and confident…
so to me true health is about putting the mental the physical and the spiritual together in your lifestyle and routine so that you are strong and yet oh so graceful at the same time and thats what i call the wow factor and true health..
merry xmas i hope you all connect warmly with family and friends and expand your new year coming to an even greater one ahead and i would love to see you in person and coach you to your best you in 2017.. warm regards Adam here in sw1 westminster, london…
