What’s the benefit of the machines?
They do a lot of work for you, so they are designed to move in line with the muscle the machine is designed to work.
The only problem with this is the human using the machine has to fix his or her body in the right position to get a true benefit from it.
Machines are also great for people who have injuries as machines are seated so they assist you and allow you to train around injuries.
They are great for bodybuilders and body shapers as they help get an easy pump as you can focus on an isolated muscle.
I believe machines have their place but they certainly wouldn’t be my entire workout programme with clients.
