Training using mixed styles of training.
there are four types of training i believe in.. and feel that people are missing out in… looking at the fitness industry and personal trainers and our industry for the past 10 years.. i have heard so called strength coaches and personal trainers and studio owners all joining in the idea that cardio is a waste of time… and instead of the positives i have heard a lot of negatives almost to the point that its pointless..
looking at health and athleticism i heavily disagree with this concept…as to me the 4 most important styles of training for optimum health and performance and wellbeing are
1 cardio… 30 – 60 minutes daily if possible and if not possible at least 20 minutes x 3 x a week.. why.. because most champions of any sport have greater endurance and simply worked higher volume and time in their sports, from Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson in boxing.. and Lance Armstrong and many many others…simply put cardio, time by yourself, deep breathing and repetitive motion is super healthy for our bodies, our minds, our spirits and the mechanics and well being of the body… i particularly like skipping and running as both suit my lifestyle and my body..it really doesn’t matter what you choose but at the end of the day you want to do deep nose breathing for 30 – 60 minutes a day doing your preferred activity indoors or outdoors, with music or without music.. it will help you sweat eliminating toxins and allow you to breathe deeply clearing your mind
2 resistance training.. simply put… firms you up and requires you eat great sources of protein to recover and in turn helps you to reduce insulin in the body and unbalanced amounts of sugar in the diet which in turn gives you a slimmer, stronger, leaner and hormonally balanced body… personally i like a combination of big lifts, bodybuilding movements, calisthenics and bands…
3 flexibility training and rehab.. this means working out what stretches give you a limber longer feeling of well being and recovery.. a flexible muscle is a limber muscle… stretch, massage and treat your body to recovery and well being and you will trainer more, harder, longer and stronger than those who do not, simply put..
4 skill set training, what I mean by this is pick an activity or event or sport that you would love to do so that you get to play and learn and mobilise your body, for me i competed for the uk karate squad and martial arts is a lifelong passion so all of my training is based on improving my martial arts and combat abilities which give me confidence and a sense of well being, again it doesn’t matter what you pick, whether its tough mudder, mma classes. boxing. dancing or a 5k run… what matters is that it excites you and it gives you determination and a purpose and goal.. when you get this all your training will be purposeful and will be partaken in to improve your game…
